The Dress

VERA WANG DIANA - ivory.

The Diana truly takes your breath away. Vera Wang has outdone herself with this strapless soft sweetheart full A-line gown with a draped wrap bodice and swirling frothy draped skirt that is at once a tradionalist masterpiece and a vision of individual style with its delicately asymmetrical tulle layers.

Worn once, original garment bag, waist sash and purchase/authentication receipts provided.

Size 2(US) fits 6 – 8 (AUS).
My measurements are:
- BUST: 34inches (10C bra size)
- HIP: 34 inches
- WAIST: 26 inches
- MY HEIGHT: 167cm, the length was perfect to the floor with 3inch high heels.

The dress has been professionally tailored to add extra features costing $2,500. There are 3 hidden buttons amongst the layers at the back to enable the train to be bustled up for wearing after the ceremony. The bra cups have been replaced with higher quality moulded cups size 10C. A small wedged panel has been inserted to extend the bust by 1 inch from the original size (see picture) and also has had ‘hook and eye’ corset closure hidden inside (behind the zip) to reinforce the bodice and protect the zip from excess pressure (see pictures). To ensure the organza layers remain ‘puffed up’ throughout the day, extra tulle rosettes have been hidden to provide a fuller body to the skirt and train (see pictures). The rosettes are easily removable if not desired.

The dress has been professionally hand cleaned by Melbourne’s leading bridal gown cleaner, Syndals, and a certificate is provided. Naturally due to being worn and cleaned, the organza has frayed slightly at the raw edges and there are some small tears in the material: mostly hidden underneath the gown. It is still in fantastic condition and has been carefully stored with inner padding to keep its shape, in a smoke free home. The gown is so stunning that the imperfections would be difficult to notice when wearing.

Included as extras with the sale of this dress are a long waist ribbon and the dressmaker’s mannequin as pictured. The extra length ribbon is perfect to wrap twice around the waist (as in the professional pictures on the Vera Wang website) and still have a full length bow trailing amongst the train. The ribbons sold with the dress were only long enough to wrap once around the waist (however, all 3 ribbons will be included for your choice). The dressmaker’s mannequin is prefect for allowing the dress to stand and prevent the layers from flattening (also makes for beautiful photos when getting ready for your big day).

I have loved this dress from the moment I saw it however, it is time to pass it on to another beautiful bride to experience the feeling of being a true princess for a day. Wearing this dress, I received so many compliments: the dress still gets mentioned years later!
