The Dress

I was married in April 2014 and as someone who never ever wears dresses the thought of buying a wedding dress was daunting. Luckily I found this dress which was nothing like i thought I would buy but was the perfect dress for me in the end. I felt comfortable, confident and beautiful in this dress and would love it if this dress could have longer than a one event shelf life! The dress was dry cleaned immediately while I was on my honeymoon and is taking up a lot of my limited wardrobe space!! This Ivory Satin dress is labelled size 20 however due to the lace up back (with modesty panel) it can easily fit sizes 18-22. This dress would be perfect if like me your trouble area is your tummy. The lace up back means you can be pulled enhancing your curves and the ruching creates a firm and flattering silhouette. The dress comes with a ruffled flower strap that matches the flower feature on the right hip. I did not wear this personally however it is very beautiful and can be attached/detached. I had the off the shoulder sleeves added by a professional dressmaker and the work was seamless. These can also be detached if you prefer the strapless look. For me the straps helped make me feel more comfortable and not so bare. There are silver embellishments along the sweetheart shaped neckline which are subtle but add detail. This style of neckline suits a bustier lady and the dress could be worn with or without a bra due to the boning. The back of the dress is also quite detailed with the lace up back as mentioned earlier but also the bustle which gathers and drapes down along the back of the dress. This dress was also extremely comfortable to wear. I did not need assistance when using the bathroom, there was no issues sitting in the dress and would all depend on how tightly you laced yourself up and I was absolutely able to dance up a storm in it as well.
