The Dress

Oscar de la Renta Brida Spring 2018 Collection - Lacee. The only person I wanted to wow on our wedding day was my husband, and the dress did just that. It is classy, elegant and plain gorgeous. The overall design is simplistic but the details are stunning. The top is a lightweight corset made of organza floral motif. The bottom is four or five layers of lace and tulle. Despite the layers, it is extremely lightweight and flowy. The fabric will move fabulously for the dance floor.

I only wore the dress for the ceremony (30 minutes at the most) and had it cleaned and boxed by a well-known wedding gown restorationist. She is part of an international network that guarantees no yellowing or stain of the gown. The network also lets you have the dress professionally inspected and pressed free of charge at any participating Certified Wedding Gown Specialist globally.

I am 5"3' and wore 4'72" (120 mm) shoes (overall height is about 5'8").

Alterations

The cups and waist were taken in. The front of the gown was shortened, the back was left in its original length as I wanted a bit of a train. Please see below for the measurements post-alterations.

I kept the lace and tulle that was trimmed from the bottom (two to three-inch wide band) and can include them if you want them.
