The Dress

If you are like me and are struggling to find the perfect wedding dress because there are so many options and style, look no further! This dress was amazing and the ‘one’ from the first time I tried it on at Sally Eagle in Wellington. The classic vintage style made me feel elegant and confident on our wedding day. It was very comfortable to wear (and dance in late into the night, it has a ribbon hidden which you can use to hold the train up).

The dress has been worn once, we did have our professional photos taken outside in the rain. The rain didn’t damage the dress at all and it dried quickly. I did get the dress dry cleaned after the wedding and it has been stored in its protective bag since. I would suggest that you get it steamed before your wedding day to ensure the pleats are immaculate and to sort out any creases.
The dress is called Diana and this is the designer’s description “The intricate lace bodice is sectioned into panels with a delicate scalloped edging separating each one. Unlike the front, the back is unlined enabling the lace detail to stand out against the skin. The luxurious silk skirt is pleated at the top to create folds and waves cascading down to the hem line. Outer: lace, silk crepe de chine; Lining: satin. Dry Clean only.”

Alterations

This amazing dress was made to my measurements and specifications. I did change the top to have unlined lace leading to the shoulders to create a lighter look. The colour of the silk is called champagne, it’s a lovely soft colour. I wore flats and I am 167cm tall.
