The Dress

Very reluctantly selling my beautiful Berta Couture wedding gown. I purchased it for my wedding in 2017 from Brides by Francesca in Rockdale, Sydney. I ended up being able to buy the floor stock sample dress which was a size 10, and they altered it for me to fit a size 8.

It’s a beautiful, soft cottony feeling, heavy type lace that sits on a nude mesh type backing, so in some parts it looks like it’s just floating on your skin!

The zipper that runs down the back is also made from this same nude mesh, so it’s only very subtle when on and barely visible. The dress itself is actually quite comfortable and looks great with heels or flats (I ended up wearing both at different stages throughout the day)

There are a string of long pearls that hang down from shoulder to shoulder at the back of the dress itself, I wore these on the day, but they are most certainly detatchable giving you the option.

My mother was also able to make me some detatchable lace sleeves that come off the sides, you’ll see it on one of those pictures I’ve attached. These will not be included as I’d like to keep them as a momento of the day.

The dress itself retails for $13,500, I was able to buy the floor stock sample for $9,500, and I’m looking to sell it for $7,500.. as it’s far to gorgeous to stay sitting in its box at the back of the wardrobe!

Alterations

The bulk of the alterations have been made to the shoulders, as there was too much excess fabric there for me, so some of the sheer mesh had to be removed..

A small layer of tule has also been added under the bottom section of the dress to make it flare out a little more and give it a nicer overall shape.
