The Dress

Selling a 2018 Ashley Justin (10551) dress in a size 8 with minimal alterations. I am 5'4 and typically wear a size 4-6, S-M. The dress was ordered in ivory/ivory, the underlay and the sequin lace are both ivory.

The lace overlay of the dress is entirely made of ivory sequins. The train is about 4 feet long. The underlay on the back portion of the dress cuts lower, with the sequin lace overlay cutting higher, an elegant touch. The subtle band of jewels around the smallest part of the waist really helped shape the dress without looking bulky. I received and still receive so many compliments on this dress. It was worn and loved once for about 8 hours for photos, ceremony, reception, first dance.

The dress shown on the website is “ivory/nude” with the underlay being more of a sand colour. The ivory of the sequin lace is what I would refer to as more “pure white” rather than an off white. The ivory underlay is what I would consider a true ivory, a slightly more creamy white without appearing yellow. The subtle contrast between the two layers allows the sequin lace to stand out.

There are quite a few layers under the sequin lace, with a satin layer closest to your body. There is some boning around the cups and rib cage area that stops at the band of jewels. There is a very thin layer of mesh in the deepest part of the V neck just to hold its shape. The back zips up. I would estimate that the dress probably weighs about 5 lbs. A bustle was professionally sewn in just below the bum, so the train of the dress easily buttons up for the reception.

The wedding was in Mexico in December and the dress was not overly hot despite the sun and humidity.

The dress has been professionally dry-cleaned by Davids Bridal and comes complete in a preservation box. You could choose to have this dress dry-cleaned after you wear it and place it back in the preservation box. There was no damage done to the dress, the train just needed to be dry cleaned. The dry cleaning was marked as "good quality" by David's Bridal quality assurance team, but I have not taken the dress out of the preservation box to see for myself. I trust that it is well cleaned, but if you'd like I can take the dress out of the box and send you photos after you purchase but before I mail it.

Alterations

Slightly hemmed at the front so that the dress would graze above the ground. I am 5'4 and wore 2 inch wedges. A bustle was added below the bum so that the train can be bustled up for easier movement.
