Romona Keveza Couture Style RK201

Give this romantic, asymmetrical neckline a try and you won't be disappointed. This classic take on a one-shouldered look reflects the most recent designer Fall 2019 RTW and 2020 Couture collections.

This striking, mermaid ball gown is constructed of ivory silk organza (if you are in a warmer climate - this natural fabric will breathe much more than a synthetic like polyester or nylon. It features a hand-draped bodice, organic, ruffled neckline, and dramatic low back. The exaggerated ruffle perfectly frames the face. The adjustable strap continues across the back, making for elegant photos of the bride as she walks down the aisle and stands at the altar. There are a few layers of stiff netting to provide volume and movement to the skirt. However, if you'd like to create the illusion of a more exaggerated mermaid silhouette, I highly recommend additional petticoats.

This beautiful design is from Romona Keveza's Spring 2012 Couture Collection. Romona envisioned this collection as “a dedication to the paramour of eternal love.” This gown is for the sophisticated, modern bride who desires a dress that will highlight her face first and foremost.

Alterations

The dress was custom made with additional length and is most suitable for the following:

Brides 5'8" - 5'11" who desire to wear tall stilleto heels, pumps or platforms
Brides 6'0" - 6'3" who desire to wear 2-3" heels or flats
Brides 5'7" and under have multiple alteration options to cut the chiffon mermaid skirt; significant
alterations in length will change the point at which the skirt begins to flare outward lower on your
legs (as opposed to mid-thigh for taller brides).

The Romona Keveza label size is an 18, and it has significant room for additional alterations. The bride was 5'9" tall + wore 6" heels. The bust of the dress has extended fit for D, DD, DDD cup sizes. As the dress was a size 18, the size of the dress in the hip and thigh area can still accommodate street Sizes 12 - 16.
