The Dress

Ethereal degradé lilac dress with romantic ruffles from the Spring 2019 Blumarine collection and fashion show featured on Vogue Italy's bridal trends 2019 (link below).

I fell in love with the dress the moment I tried it on but it was on my wedding day while wearing it and after seeing the official photographs that I truly appreciated its beauty.

The rounded and structured bodice enhances bust and bosom and elongates the silhouette with the most flattering and feminine result.
The gradient effect photographs wonderfully and changes in intensity based on the light against the backdrop of the purest white (a blush romantic pink in sunny weather transformed into a stunning and timeless lilac indoors).
The ruffled skirt and tulle layers underneath are extremely light making the dress drape and move beautifully: our first dance turned into a sensational and breathtaking display of tulle in movement!

When purchasing the dress, I also acquired 3mx3m of the same blush tulle used for the dress (as seen in picture number 2). I used it as a shall for the shoulders in the evening but it can easily be transformed into a veil. I also acquired a low wired petticoat skirt for the walk down the aisle (when used it opens up the skirt enhancing the volume and freeing the walk).

Alterations

Bodice has been taken in for a snug and comfortable fit to reliably hug my 90cm at bust level, and 70cm at waist level (bra cups have been added as well).
The most inner layer of satin has been shortened by 5cm to avoid stepping on it: I'm 1,75cm tall and wore the dress with flat Dior slingback shoes. No alteration has been done for the outer layer of tulle.

Professionally dry cleaned, the dress is currently at my parents' place in Venice.
