The Dress

Hi there! I purchased this stunning Monique Lhuillier "Catherine" lace dress for my upcoming wedding. It is one of the prettiest dresses I have ever seen. The lace is so stunning, and the top has bustier boning to make the dress structured and fit perfectly. The back also has boning, which gives you a great look from behind in photos and the lace has a v-shape from the shoulders to waist. It's an absolutely breathtaking dress.

The attention to detail and quality is unparalleled. I've been to five upscale dress makers, including the Monique Lhuillier flagship in LA, and still think Monique Lhuillier makes the best quality and most timeless styles.

I bought this from another bride, but neglected to ask the cup size in the top bustier part of the dress (I am a 36 D-DD cup). Sadly, the cup does not fit me, I think it will best fit an A to C cup.

The dress has only been worn once, by the other bride. She said it was a size 12 (but there are no size tags) and she had the waist taken in to a 10. She also had the sleeves taken to a 3/4 length sleeve. The original price of the dress was $10,000 and she said she spent $1,000 on the waist/corset and sleeve alterations and to add the ML buttons all the way down the back of the dress.

The dress fit me perfectly besides the cup being too small and I normally wear a size 10-12 in street wear for a-line styles. I am 5'6" and could have worn a heel as the length of the dress didn't seem to be modified. Again, I'd be happy to take any measurements needed, please just ask :)

The dress will need to be dry-cleaned for freshening and the tulle underneath will need to be steamed out, as it has gathered slightly under the dress from shipping. Once it is steamed, the tulle will reach the floor and puff out the lace as seen in the model photos.

I have checked the dress thoroughly and there are no tears in the lace. There is one very small, pin head size spot (foundation?) at the bust that a dry cleaner could absolutely remove and some very slight grey at the lace at the back hem. I found one 1/4" area of cording on the lace that needs to be stitched back down. Also, one underwire is coming out on the right bust and will need to be sewn back in. I was being very thorough in checking, so this might seem like nitpicking, I just feel like it's important to know every detail when you are purchasing online! The Monique Lhuillier interior tag is coming off at the top corner (as shown in photo) and will need to be restitched down.

Overall, the dress is in excellent condition. It will be so stunning on and I'd love for someone else who was wanting this gorgeous gown to get a chance to wear it for their wedding day!
