The Dress

Gorgeous elegant silk Shantung spring/summer/early fall Galina Signature designer wedding dress. Vintage 1993. $2000 at the time. Similar style and capped sleeves of Jacqueline Kennedy's wedding dress. (See photo) Was on the cover of several magazines that year and on the cover of the Galina catalog. I just happened to pick it out - first dress and that was it- at a boutique in Greenwich, CT and later saw it elsewhere in all these magazines! Very understated and elegant with not a ton of beading etc. Gently floral silked edging neckline. Capped sleeves add elegance (a la Jackie)!

Immediately after the wedding, my mother had it dry cleaned and professionally sealed and packaged in a double boxed acid-free chambered thick container . It has been unopened since then so I am not 100% certain that it's a size 6 as that is what size I was back then and still am. At the time of my wedding I was 5 foot 7, 120 pounds, and very slender With a small chest size 36 A . The dress can certainly be altered but again, I'm not positive of the sizing but fairly certain it's a 6. The bodice is fitted through the waist and fits snugly but comfortably. It is really meant for a slender woman and can be altered smaller . I would not recommend this if you are size 8 or a generous 6 with a large bust. Since I was and still am fairly flat chested, I insisted on pads being put in the bodice but those could easily be removed. I have additional photos of me in dress that I can send. NOTE: This may come with the veil that is included in the additional photos I can send. I am fairly certain but can not guarantee that my mother also put the veil in with the dress as I haven't seen it since. Either way, if the veil is in the box it is included FREE with the gown.

Alterations

Pads put into the chest to give the appearance of a larger bust. Waist brought in slightly. This was 27 years ago but I do not recall a lot of alterations as it fit me pretty well.
