The Dress

This is the beautiful Harlie dress by Made With Love.

An elegant and classic style, freshly dry cleaned and in near perfect condition. The Art Deco style lace is form-fitting and creates a beautiful silhouette, in addition to the low back design.

The lace bodice made this so light and comfortable for a hot summer’s day, and the slit at the front made it easy to move around with. This was by far the most comfortable dress I tried on, and yet was incredibly flattering.

Only defect to the dress is a small tear to the lace at the very bottom edge and that is only visible when up close. I have photographs should you wish to see these.

A secret button on the under side of the skirt allows for the train to be pinned up later in the evening. In addition to this, there is a wrist strap on the train so you can hold it up if you don’t want to pin it up - or where you need to get the train out of the way for you first dance.

I am around 5”6 without heels and usually wear a size 10/12. Bra size 34B, but the dress can fit most cup sizes.

Alterations

The top section of the dress was shortened by about 3cm, which was done by lifting the waist rather than by shortening the length of the straps (to maintain the shape of the bust etc). Apparently this is a very common alteration for the Made With Love dresses, where the bodice section is often longer than needed.

The length of the skirt was not altered, but it was taken in very slightly to give it a slightly more fitted shape.

Two hidden loops of thread and a tiny transparent button were added to enable the train to be hooked up (a “bustle”) just below the bum.
