The Dress

The Sydney Dress and Lee Slip from Anna Campbell is a decision that makes you feel good about decision making.

Things I loved about this dress
- It looks fantastic in all lights. Daylight, evening, night time. It is perfect for a garden wedding.
- It is a fun dress. It sparkles, it catches your eye, it twirls
- It is super comfortable. You can walk, eat, dance, run in this dress
- It has a low back but it is a *flattering* low back. I really struggled with this because I wanted a low back but I wanted the back to look amazing to photograph - this dress does this in an amazing way
- it sparkles, but it is also a classic a-line cut
- it is light, breathable, and wearable in warmer conditions. I found many European dresses too hot, this dress and this designer definitely fits the bill in that regard
- the measurements I have put up are a guide. As the dress is A-line there is a lot of room to go up or down. My bust is small at the best of times and give can go there. The waist has a belt which again goes up and down.

Things which I did to the dress you should know about
- I wore it with the nude side facing up. The Lee slip comes with an ivory side and an nude side. I wore with the nude colour facing up back my olive skin looked better with the nude. You can wear it either way - however the cups are sewn into the ivory side so the nude faces up
- I am a B cup
- I had a belt sewn in to the dress to make sure the dress sat in exactly at my waist. The sequins on the tulle pull the dress away from the waist - the inner belt when tightens make sure the dress falls in the most flattering way. The belt can be tightened for the ceremony - and then loosened after formal photos are done
- zip removed and clips added instead
- bustle added buttons to ensure it didn't drag on the ground with additional buttons

I changed into a different dress for the reception. This means the dress is undamaged. I did this last minute as we added throws and jumps to my first dance and I was somewhat scared my husband would twist my ankle in the heels I wore. I had planned to dance in it which is why I added in the proper bustle. You can dance in this dress providing you don't do swing style lifts/throws in your first dance.
