ABOUT GEORGIA YOUNG COUTURE

The Georgia Young Couture label has a distinctive design with the use of strong lines, geometric shapes, clean fabrics and contemporary vibes, these gowns are the perfect Couture piece for the modern bride.

The 'NOLITA' 2019 collection draws on the strong architectural line work, found on the iconic facades and striking monuments that defines New York City. Inspiration is translated through the collection’s geometric panelling, linear binding and dimensional form.

ABOUT THE DRESS

The 'Brooklyn' dress was the standout wedding dress for me as I didn't want to look like a traditional "bride," this dress is modern yet still manages to look classic and timeless. As a curvy woman, I normally shy away from low-cut or tight dresses however this dress is so well cut that the clean lines hugged the right places to accentuate my curves whilst making me feel slim and beautiful on the day. I got married in Noosa in October and this dress was perfect for my relaxed summer vibe, the dress was striking enough that I didn't feel the need to wear a veil but you absolutely could.

Alterations

- I had Georgia remove small tabs on either shoulder that can be seen on the sample dress on the website as I felt it made the dress more simple and classic.
- As there is quite a long (and beautiful) train on this dress, I had a wonderful seamstress in Brisbane add a bustle underneath the train. If you're shorter than me (I am 171cm + 8.5cm heels) you would easily be able to get the dress taken up without losing the shape.
- I also had the seamstress add cups into the bust for extra support.
