The Dress
Mermaid gowns did not look good on my body type. I needed padding at the top and some structure to give me a small waist/ curves. I had two gowns and this was my reception dress. I loved the shape it gave me and was very snug but perfect. I had the alterations lady give me more room to move by putting the flare a bit higher up in the front. I felt amazing and got a lot of compliments. I wasn't sure about the horse hair at first but it really made the dress by giving the bottom so much volume My waist looked smaller, I felt, which was my ultimate goal to some degree. It also photographed really well!
Alterations
I had the top taken in because I am about a 34 C on a good day. I also wanted it extra tight in case I was photographed at a less than perfect angel. I am 5'6 and 140lbs with not a lot of cleavage and a solid size 4 or 6 in pants.
