This Karen Willis Holmes Blake bodice/Melanie skirt combo gown was my dream dress and so comfortable to wear on my wedding day.
With its flattering structured ball gown shape and smooth satin finish it, this dress is truly divine.
Whilst it may look and feel heavy, it was surprisingly easy to dance and move around in throughout the day and night.

Karen Willis Holmes were able to make the straps removable for me (they clip into clear buttons inside the bodice) so I had the option to remove them for dancing etc later in the evening so it was easier to put my arms in the air!

The skirt of the dress has a bustle installed so you’re able to shorten the train for ease of dancing and moving around the reception (teach one your bridesmaids or a friend how to tie this one up as you won’t be able to do it yourself!)

I have to say the deep pockets were one of the best parts! I kept my phone, lipstick, mirror and mints in them for the reception which was so handy.
I also found them useful to lift the dress when travelling down any stairs, that way you don’t have to touch the outer shell of the skirt and risk marking it!

I had double bust padded cups added to the dress so I didn’t have to wear a bra, and I am a C cup. These could easily be removed by a seamstress if you didn’t want them in there. The bodice without padding is designed to fit an A-C cup.

I wore the dress with the KWH 3D Veil (see picture above), which I am also happy to sell should you need one for $130 (purchased for $270).

PLEASE NOTE: The dress has some faint dirt marks on the outside and underneath the train at the very bottom at the back of the dress. The dry cleaners explained to me that when it rains on a wedding day and the dress is dragged through some mud, it can be extremely difficult to remove this from the dress without using harsh stain removal products. I wasn’t willing to risk damaging the dress completely through this process so I decided not to proceed any further. Although the dirt is there, it is mostly located underneath the back train of the dress and this part is not visible from the outside until you lift it. The most important parts of the dress being the front bodice and skirt and the back bodice and a majority of the skirt look nearly perfect. If you are serious about purchasing the dress, please let me know and I can send through any photos you need.
