The Dress

The sheer number of details this dress brings together makes it an incredible piece. A mermaid design in embroidered tulle with thousands of beaded appliques that decorate a silhouette with a bateau neckline and a very sexy and elegant plunging back. A design that spotlights the fabric and illusions to blend into one.

This stunning dress is from the “Atelier” Pronovias range, which means it was handmade in Spain and as per my measurements. It was then altered here in Melbourne to fit me perfectly.
The dress is not light or flowy, however it is not overly heavy nor does it make you feel hot. We had an outdoor ceremony in the sun and a gorgeous 28 degree day and I was not “hot and bothered” at all.

I honestly felt like the most beautiful and elegant, yet sexy bride ever. The amount of comments I had on this dress where family or friends said they have never seen anything like it and it’s the most stunning wedding dress they’ve ever seen, made me smile even more, all day!

The whole dress is just so flattering and it hugged my body in all the right places. I wanted to accentuate my curves and feel sexy, but not too revealing. I think this dress has the perfect combination!

It has only been worn on my wedding day, has been stored in 2 wedding dress bags and laid down flat. It is in fantastic condition and I am someone who really takes care of my clothes so you will see that when seeing the dress.

Notes: I’m a 12DD in my bust and have a small waist so the dress was taken in around my waist when it arrived to Melbourne. Usually I’m a size 10 in tops and an 8 or a 10 in bottoms. I’m a 158cm tall and the dress was hemmed to be flush against or just above the floor with heels on.

Alterations

The bust had cups sewn in to support my bust so that a bra did not have to be worn. The length was also hemmed to sit just on the floor if not slightly above, with a 10cm heel on.

There is also a hook for the train to be hooked up to which was fantastic for the reception and our wedding dance which had lots of twirls and dips!
Because of the weight in the train we also used a heavy duty safety clip to secure the weight of the train while dancing. Worked really well!
