The Dress

Lillian West #66012. Fit-and-Flare lace dress in ivory with a nude underlay, illusion bodice with boning, and chapel length train.

This dress is too beautiful and flattering to sit in my closet forever, so I'm hoping someone else will get to enjoy her! Her train brought all the drama to our ceremony, but adding the French bustle provided functionality AND beauty. Her lace detailing is GORGEOUS! I love the nude underlay because you can actually see all of the delicate details. I noticed that the ivory/ivory option lost all of those beautiful details, so I think nude was definitely the right choice for me! I cannot emphasize how comfortable I was in this dress. I HATE scratchy fabrics and these fabrics did not irritate me at all.

This dress is a bit on the heavier side. I was give a choice and opted to keep the nude underlay fabric for the full length of the train, again to emphasize the lace details. The alternate option was to only have a lace train with the nude underlay fabric hemmed to graze the floor. Because of this the dress is a bit heavy because there is a lot of fabric. This should be an easy alteration though! Despite having a lot of fabric, I wasn't too hot in the dress even with our wedding on the summer solstice.

Condition: The dress is in excellent condition and has been dry cleaned and preserved. Only damage to the dress is that one of the seven bustles did break so you should plan to have that repaired with your alterations. COVID caused us to significantly scale back our plans so this dress was only worn for a couple of hours and didn't suffer any spills or dirt which is a small miracle in its own right!

She's a beaut and was the star of the show. 10/10, would pick this dress again!

Alterations

Alterations include hemming and taken in at the chest, waist, and hips. Added cups and a French bustle.
