The Dress

Beautiful lace dress, worn to my wedding in Feb 2020. In beautiful condition, has been hand cleaned and is ready to wear to the next event.

Received many compliments on the style and looks gorgeous in photos - you won’t regret wearing this dress on your wedding day!

I was worried about it passing the comfort test throughout the night and I was very pleasantly surprised about how well it fit and held up.

It has been altered to my measurements - please see ‘alterations’ section for more information about what I had altered.

Alterations

- this dress has been taken in at the waist about 2 cm on each side, but I made sure that the seamstress left in some excess fabric so it could be let back out again (was concerned about that pre-wedding weight gain)
- it has been taken in about 2cm at the top of the strap. If you’ve tried this on in store, you would know that they leave a lot of room for alterations at the top, so it looks and fits much better with the small amount taken off the straps
- sewed up in the centre for more modesty
- removed about a foot of train off the back - I am 5’10 and wore heels, so there should be plenty of train for most to work with - the picture in the garden is me without my heels on and you cannot see how much excess fabric there is at the bottom. When wearing 10cm heels the hem sat flush on the ground.
- used some of the trimmed off hem to cover the side mesh and reinforce the fabric - see black and white photo for details
- added white lining to the inside of the front of the bodice to create a bolder white look - this can be removed if you’d prefer
