The Dress

Purchased from Bluebell Bridal in Melbourne last year, I wore this incredible Prea James dress in February 2021.

It was the second dress I ever put on, and I knew immediately it was the one for me. Handmade in Australia, I was looking for a gown that was simple yet elegant, with a 'split' and the 'Mira' was exactly that. The incredible 100% silk fabric was so soft and comfortable to wear, I was able to dance and move freely in this dress.

The label size is a 9 (the ladies at Bluebell suggested this size, to be able to alter it) although I am a size 8 usually. I am 161cm tall and I wore 7cm Bared Footwear heels. I changed into white flat sneakers later in the night.

This dress has been meticulously and professionally dry cleaned at Bluebell Bridal's preferred dry cleaner; Syndal's Bridal Dry Cleaning and will be sold with the certificate.

As with any pre-loved gown, there are tiny 'pulls' of the material around the train which are only noticeable on very close inspection of the fabric. I was married outdoors, with cobble stones and grass etc. and these imperfections are inevitable even within a couple of hours of wearing a wedding gown. I am happy to supply more photos if requested.

As much as I'd love to keep it, I know I would much rather see it go to another bride who will love it as much as I do.

If you are after something comfortable, yet elegant and classy, this dress will not disappoint.

Alterations

I have had some alterations done:
- Added bra cups, which can be easily removed or replaced with different cups
- Shortening of the straps, which can be lengthened again
- Taken in slightly at the waist and bust (as it was originally a size 9)
- Shortening of the hem
- Added bustle (see picture 7)
