The Dress

A truly stunning wedding gown by Essence of Australia with on-trend beautiful back detail in a mermaid/trumpet fit. I had nothing but compliments when I wore this on my wedding day with complete strangers commenting on its uniqueness and elegance. The pictures really do not do this dress justice!

This is an Essence of Australia size 10. I am a UK High Street size 8 (Karen Millen, Oasis etc.)

It has been professionally altered to fit the following measurements:
Bust: 32.5 (fullest part)
Waist: 27
Lower Hips: 36 (This is the fullest measurement across the bum)

I am 5'6 without shoes and 5'9 with my wedding shoes.

When the alterations were undertaken, I had bust pads inserted - wearing a bra with this dress is not really an option! Also, a bustle was fitted to pull in the train for throwing shapes on the dance floor for the evening!

The dress is Ivory in colour and, from memory, it has five layers on the lower part. (Netting x2, lining, lace, beading). The top part of the dress has boning through the bodice, but whilst assisting in achieving an hourglass silhouette it is still incredibly comfortable. The lace detail and beading on this dress is also exquisite. Please note that this has been hand sewn and not ironed/transferred on as it is with some dresses. The back of the dress is fastened with a zip and then has an overlay of crystal buttons.

This dress has been worn once one the day of my wedding. Due to the late arrival from the manufacturers, I only picked the dress up the day before my wedding. It was then worn on the day of the wedding and then taken on the Monday for professional dry cleaning (at a cost of £130). It has been hung in its protective bag since then. There are no marks, pulls, rips, tears or stains - it is in perfect condition.
