The Dress

This beautiful Valeria gown was part of Karen Willis Holmes' "Luxe" collection and is now archived and no longer available to purchase.

Originally I was looking for quite a plain gown but struggled to find something in the silhouette I was after which also felt "special". I waited a long time to try on the Valeria gown (thanks Melbourne lockdowns!) but it was the last dress I tried on - I knew it was a perfect combination of simplicity and detail I was after.

It is a more generous fit than the other cuts in the collection with the internal silk skirt skimming the legs while the tulle layer falls loosely and delicately over the top. It fit snugly but without clinging to any areas I didn't want it to.

The dress has been professionally dry cleaned and stored in a pet and smoke free environment since it's pick up from the Karen Willis Holmes Armadale store. There is some slight evidence of wear internally where the skirt skimmed the ground but is not visible when worn.

It has been priced competitively as I am moving and wish to pass it on before we settle, I'd love it to have a second life for someone else's special wedding day. Happy to have serious buyers in my home to try it on before finalising purchase.

Alterations

- The dress was hemmed to my height with heels - 170cm including heels.
- The tulle layer of the dress was taken up slightly to be closer to the silk under layer
- A bustle was added (which I have a video of how to achieve) however I didn't end up using it and was fine to dance with it staying down
- The shoulders and chest was taken in and cups were sewn in to the bust, I'm usually a size 8 up the top and have a B cup chest
