The Dress

Will consider all reasonable offers around the asking price. Location: Torquay - can deliver to Melbourne. I purchased this dress from Stillwhite in 2019 to hopefully get married in. Then COVID struck. We postponed, and eventually had a smaller beautiful wedding - but I opted for a different cocktail dress. As such, I bought this dress but it’s been hanging in my closet since then unused. The original seller wed in this dress in November 2017. I am providing the same details from their ad I purchased from: 1. Bought off the floor at Mariana Hardwick on Sydney Road, Brunswick. It had a few minor alterations to the neckline and some press studs were put in so the split wasn't so high. One of the press studs is missing, but the lower one still works. The alterations were done at Mariana Hardwick. 2. Selling with the original Mariana Hardwick garment bag and hanger. 3. Seller weighed about 75kgs and would usually wear a 14-16 on the bottom and a 12-14 on the top, bra size was a 12DD-E. Seller short waisted with long-ish legs and big hips. The dress has a very high split which is most noticeable when you sit down. 4. Boobs taped with sports tape for the dress. 5. Condition - as the buyer, I’d say the dress was in near perfect condition except for the damaged at the bottom, as you can see from the photos. Some of the beads have come off and the edges of the train are frayed. The lining and outer are also slightly stained toward the bottom. 6. The dress professionally cleaned but the marks still remain - IMO They would not be noticeable in photos as the dress folds gently as it falls, so it should hide the marks and broken beading. You can hitch the little train up at the back but it still skims the floor. 7. The dress is HEAVY! It’s beautifully made with beading. The beads are what make it so weighty. 8. Front fastening great for toilet breaks 9. The seller sold this with this statement originally: “I would love another bride to enjoy this dress as much as I did and feel like a 1930s screen siren on your day. I paid a lot of money for this dress, but I would like someone to be able to enjoy it who might not be able to afford Mariana Hardwick from the shop” - I personally would love to see someone wear it for their wedding like the original seller, when I didn’t end up doing so. 10. You can pick the dress up from Torquay or I can post for a fee. My husband also works in Melbourne, so if accessible can consider delivery for a small fee. 11. As the buyer, trying on, I was surprised that I had room in the arms (I carry weight there), I am an apple shape so the waist was tight, but the rest fit as a standard 14 I’d say.

Alterations

Minor; reported by original seller. Alterations The neckline was brought in a little bit and there are extra press studs below the fastening to lower the split.
