The Dress

This beautiful Gala by Galia Lava 902 dress was the perfect compliment to my summer garden wedding. Delicate white floral and botanical appliqués covered in clear Swarovski crystals envelope the bodice along with a few floral appliqués scattered down the skirt made out of a light blush tulle over pure white tulle. The dress has a sheer mesh that covers the collar bone and parts of the back that serve as support for the bodice and cap sleeve nature of the appliqués. This dress has only been worn one day- my wedding day. It, along with the handmade veil have been professionally dry cleaned and preserved by The Wedding Dress Preservation Company- the leader in preserving fine wedding dresses.

Bust- 33.5"
Waist- 27.5
Hips-38

I am a US size 4. The dress is a size 40.

I have the original receipt from the Bridal Salon that we purchased the dress to show as proof of purchase upon request. An additional $675.00 was spent on the below mentioned alterations.

Alterations

The dress had a custom liner sewed in from the bottom of the bodice to the ground as the original design was extremely see thru. The dress was hemmed to my height of 5'9''; I wore flats the day of my wedding. Additionally, a bustle was created with tiny buttons and hooks to raise the train once the ceremony was over. There is a variety of buttons in a pattern on the bottom layer of the dress along with a variety of buttons and a pattern on the top layer of tulle. There are a few buttons that came unsewn. This work was completed by a bridal dress seamstress.

Lastly, the original dress of the design included a ribbon corset on the back of the dress below the shoulder. I did not like the corset and had Galia Lahav's seamstresses in Israel create an alternate back in which it covers the corset and instead has an invisible zipper covered in the appliqués, creating a slightly different look.
