The Dress

This is a Pronovias Levante Wedding Dress. US size 6, Ivory in colour.

Beautiful taffeta & tulle A-line dress with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The bodice is embroidered with delicate silver flowers and crystals and this is carried throughout the dress.

Levante has an asymmetrical design with taffeta ruched to one side at the right hip to expose a full pleated tulle skirt. The dress fastens with a zip and hook & eye which is concealed by buttons. It has an inbuilt corset & sewn in cups which give great shape & support.

It did not move on me the entire night (unlike some strapless dresses that you are constantly pulling up or readjusting). I didn't have to wear a bra with the dress because of the sewn in cups & the corset waist. I hired a hoop to wear underneath to give it more shape.

I had the dress taken up & in a little when I purchased it. I know it says that US 6 is the equivalent of an AU 10 but the dress is smaller than a 10. I was a size 6-8 at the time. The US 6 was the smallest size available & I believe that after the alterations it would be around an AU 6-8. I am still about the same size as I was on the wedding day & I currently wear a size 6.

The dress was dry-cleaned immediately after the wedding day & has been boxed & stored since then. It is in excellent condition.

There are a few minor marks at the bottom of the dress. The button & loop to bustle the train at the back broke at the reception (someone stepped on the back of the dress on the dance floor). However, this could easily be fixed by sewing on another button & reattaching the loose end of the loop.

It is a stunning dress. I absolutely loved it & had nothing but positive feedback on & since the day. It was elegant, beautiful, classic & comfortable! I would love for someone else to get to wear it for their wedding day, rather than it just sit there going to waste in a box!
