The Dress

This is the beautiful Elisabeth dress from Vancouver based bridal label, Truvelle.

Size 10 (Bust: 36.5″–37.5″, 29″–30″).

I purchased this dress from Truvelle's etsy store. I had a lot of trouble finding a dress that would fit me - I have a small bust with a relatively wide waist, so every other dress I tried on in person either cut me in half or was all gapey at the top.

I can honestly say that the Elisabeth fits like a dream - I can't believe that a dress I never saw or tried on prior to purchasing it actually fits better than any other dress I've tried on. It is boned and adjustable at the back, so it would also easily accommodate a larger bust (I went bra-less and just Hollywood taped it up on the day).

I am 171cm tall and wore flat shoes on the day. I had the skirt professionally altered so that the front touched the ground, but left a small train at the back.

The dress has been professionally dry-cleaned ($150) at Garran dry cleaners in Canberra. There are some small, faint grey marks remaining on the back end of the skirt that the dry cleaner wasn't able to get out (see image attached), but it is not noticeable when the dress is on. If you were concerned about it, you could just alter the skirt to remove the small train where the marks are.

You are welcome to come and try the dress on at my home in Canberra, or else I regularly travel to Brisbane for work so I could bring it with me for you to try on during one of my trips if you like. I'm happy to answer any of your questions or send you more pictures.

This gown features a sweetheart neckline, ruched lace bodice, and low back. The skirt is made on the bias using almond chiffon which flows effortlessly from the waist to the floor. Elisabeth’s bodice is designed with hand-sewn lace, with grosgrain ribbon accentuating the gown’s boning. The back dips into a lace-up, which allows for size flexibility and a perfectly adjustable fit. The waistband is made of a stunning silver beaded trim.

The bodice is constructed with two sets of interfacing and is fully boned to give structure and support. Many of our brides don’t require a bra because of this.

The length measures roughly 46″ at the front and roughly 51″ at the back. It can easily be shortened using an experienced bridal tailor.
