The Dress

There was something about the way the tulle skirt was cut, it isn't a straight piece of tulle that hits the floor but it is an intricate handkerchief tulle skirt which is uncommon to be found done well in tulle. What's more is that the handkerchief detail is SUBTLE which I love, so you get the effect of the light hitting your dress and adding interest to the skirt without over-dramatic changes to the dress' silhouette. I felt like i was floating on a cloud. It was light and not too complicated!

The bodice looks and feels amazing - sweetheart neckline, crystal encrusted and corset style. Why do I recommend corset style? Simple answer: because I can control how skinny my waist looks! Zippers/buttons are set and if you should happen to gain/lose weight before the wedding it can affect how the dress sits on you. But with a corset, it is more forgiving and you can really pull in that waist should you want to (and for someone who doesn't really have curves, I really wanted to!).

Selling Dress so it can have another life

PURCHASED: This gorgeous dress was purchased from The Dress Bridal Store, Saskatoon

SIZE + Alterations: the dress was actually ordered as a size 16 due to me bust size! Dress was altered to a size closer to a size 14. Shortened to my height of 5'3" with 2 inch heels. We also removed some layers of tulle as I was drowning in the amount of tulle. We did put in a 3 layer bustle with clear snap buttons. Alterations done by the fabulous team at W Bridals Curvy Couture in Saskatoon

CONDITION: Has only been worn once to my wedding and has been professionally dry cleaned at Custom Cleaners Saskatoon. The Bustle was damaged by a hotel guest that was not there for my wedding. He didn't let me get out of the elevator on my way to our reception and ripped the bustle apart. Had to pin it up for the reception. Was very Angry. Therefore, it does has a tear in the tulle and the bustle will have to fixed. The price is adjusted to reflect this.
