The Dress

This is a beautiful vintage dress from the 1950's. It was purchased from a reputable (and super popular!) vintage shop on Etsy. I had it professionally repaired by a bridal tailor as it, of course, had signs of wear from being over 50 years old! The tailor also updated the dress with an invisible zip. It is made from a sturdy fabric with a light pattern on it that will smooth out any little imperfections on the body. Please see the measurements for true size.

This is an a-line, v-neck dress with adorable pockets, and sweet tie details on the sleeves. It is handmade and was clearly made for one particular woman of the 50's. It is not branded, and therefore has no official size. but most closely measures to a medium. It's not white, but an ivory/champagne/light cream colour. It's been professionally cleaned and it's assumed to have been worn as it's from the 50's, but not by the seller.

Sitting flat, the measurements are taken from side seam to side seam (half measurement) Waist: 38.5 cm which is at the smallest part of the dress and hits at the natural waist.

The length from the waist to the hem is 56.5 cm and hits just above the knee

The bust is best for those with not as full tops... this was my problem and why I'm selling it. It fit my ribs fine and I measure a full 12 E according to the little lady who measured me recently. but the actual cup area is the part that didn't fit.

This is a gorgeous piece of history and I hope someone can wear this on their wedding day as I was hoping to! It would also make a sweet party dress! It's got so much more life left in it!

This vintage dress has had a full tune-up (a $400 value!) from a professional wedding tailor and is looking great! It's had repairs from its vibrant history and also some updates including a new invisible zip up the back for a no slide situation when you're reaching for that last shoe adjustment before you walk down the aisle and reinforced darts and seams to make sure nothing goes popping when you're busting a move on the dance floor.
