I wore this beautiful dress for my wedding this summer, and now it’s time for someone else to enjoy it. It’s a Madison James for Allure gown, bought from a boutique in Southampton. I’m a size 10 (sometimes a 12 in trousers) and it fit perfectly. The dress hugs nicely at the top and gives a lovely shape around the waist while still being really comfortable to wear all day. The top half has a delicate lace underlayer with 3D floral detailing that adds subtle texture and dimension. It’s fitted around the bottom but not restrictive in the slightest, then becomes looser around the knees and flows out into a soft, elegant train. The sleeves offer a bit of arm coverage, and the whole dress moves beautifully. In terms of alterations, I added buttons down the back and also a wrist loop under the skirt so you can lift the train easily when walking or dancing. It’s a really flattering, elegant dress that made me feel amazing, and I’d love for it to make someone else feel the same on their special day.
