Vivienne Westwood, Nova Cocotte Wedding Dress – UK Size 10

This Vivienne Westwood Nova Cocotte wedding dress is, quite simply, phenomenal. Often referred to as the ultimate Westwood bridal gown and widely celebrated as a “dress of the decade,” it is one of those rare pieces that completely lives up to its reputation.

I purchased this dress in August 2025 from the Vivienne Westwood Davies Street boutique in London, Like so many brides before me, the moment I tried it on I just knew it was the one — and there was no going back. Nothing prepares you for how this dress makes you feel, both when you first put it on and on the day itself. It’s impossible to put into words, and letting it go is genuinely emotional!

The dress is crafted from 100% pearl silk and has been altered exclusively by the Vivienne Westwood couture team at the Davies Street boutique. No other seamstress or tailor has worked on this dress. As Vivienne Westwood bridal sizing runs small, I purchased a size 10 as they do run small , and had it taken in to fit a size 8. The exact measurements are listed below. The bust ruching was subtly taken in by the Vivienne Westwood couture team at Davies Street — a commonly recommended adjustment for this style — to refine the neckline, show more of the clavicle and arms, and give a more defined waist while remaining true to the original design.

It has been professionally dry cleaned at one of Vivienne Westwood’s recommended dry cleaners and is in fantastic condition. The only thing worth noting is a very slight mark at the very bottom seam of the hem, caused by dust from an outdoor wedding setting. This is minimal and not noticeable when worn. I am very happy to provide detailed photographs on request for full transparency.
