The Dress

Ivory and champagne Alfred Angelo gown, altered to add sleeves and a keyhole back. The skirt has layers and layers of soft tulle which give an ethereal look to the gown, and make it absolutely stunning in photographs. The sleeves are made using tulle and a couple of the lace appliques from the skirt to ensure it was a seamless match for the rest of the gown. The keyhole on the back was also made using lace appliques from the skirt. The seamstress did such an amazing job - if you didn't know better, you'd think it came from the factory as it is! That being said, the keyhole could be removed without damaging the gown, as could the sleeves.

I wore it twice - once for our wedding, and again for a small church ceremony a few months later. It has been hand washed by the bridal boutique I purchased it from.

The gown is comfortable to wear and to dance in, and made me feel completely like a princess from the moment I put it on.

The dress was altered to take it from a 'tank top' style to a boat neckline, with three quarter length sleeves and a keyhole back. A hook was added to the train to bustle to floor length for dancing. It was also taken up to match my height and the fact I was wearing flat shoes - I'm 175cm tall.
