The Dress

A beautiful custom made dress crafted by Joanna Delaney in Vancouver, BC.

This dress is brand new - it has never been worn (besides briefly at fitting appointments, as can be seen in a few pins and garment straps in the photos! :) ). My wedding plans changed, otherwise I would have loved to wear this comfortable and unique dress on my wedding day.

About the dress:
The bottom is made of silk crepe which was cut on the bias, creating a beautiful and flattering fitted skirt, with a tiny puddle train in the back (just a few inches). The top is the same silk crepe in the front, and covered by delicate French chantilly lace, which also creates sheer straps in the back. The liner of the skirt is a double layer of silk crepe on top of an organic bamboo stretch material, which feels like a hug and is SO soft. The neckline is modern and plunging, as are under the arms and the back.

Natural waistline 26.5"

Hips 36"

Chest 34" (bra size is usually 34B-C depending)

Top of strap to waistline: 13”

Waistline to bottom of front of dress: 43”

Waistline to bottom of train: 45”

I originally paid 3,100 CAD to have this dress made. It is in mint condition, hanging from garment straps inside its bag in my closet. As Joanna is not an internationally known designer, I am willing to part with this dress for less than a third of the cost, to ensure it has a life for a bride on her wedding day.
