The Dress

Then do I have some good news for you! This Jack Sullivan 'Taryn’ dress was the answer to my wedding prayers! She was the very first dress I tried on and from then on nothing else would compare. When I did up her beautiful ivory buttons all my childhood dreams came true – the backless, strapless dress I wanted so desperately for my year 12 formal but was told was ‘physically impossible’ does exist! More importantly, the bridal vision in the reflection of the wedding store mirror looked like she wouldn’t be required to show proof of age to the wedding celebrant!

RRP is $2,699 but after visiting the bridal store 3 times to negotiate the price I think the lady got sick of me and in the end I paid $2,300. I bought a size 8 and had it altered to fit what would probably be just over a size 6 in AUS sizing ($150 in alterations). There is built in cupping so no need to wear a bra but if your 25-years-and-still-waiting growth spurt doesn’t arrive in time for the wedding (*still waiting) then the dress can also be worn with a strapless bra or cups. I also added a bustle and slightly shortened the hem (I’m 157cm and wore 10cm heels).
