The Dress

This is such a gorgeous gown designed by world-renowned, Karen Willis Holmes.

A V-neck sequin beaded gown with exquisite, feminine floral detailing through the bodice which drops into a soft slimline skirt. It has been beautifully hemmed to comfortably fall to the ground, with a discreet loop and tie available to allow you to tie it up into a bustle for the reception. The bustle has been skilfully designed so that the sequin pattern on the buttocks seamlessly integrates into the skirt. It almost takes on a shape of a mermaid gown, once tied up.The belt is optional.

The first thing I noticed about this dress is how structured it felt to wear, but how 'effortless' it appears. It is double lined, and feels stable and supportive, but flows in a relaxed way - for the bride who wants to feel special and beautiful but not too 'over the top'. I had many compliments on my wedding day about how 'flattering' and 'unique' the gown was.

It was immediately and professionally dry cleaned ($250) and is in excellent condition (still has the dry cleaning tag inside for proof).

Alterations

It has been fitted with breast pads for extra support - I did not want to wear a bra on the day.
(It would suit B-DD cups)

It originally had a higher, square-shaped back but has been tailored to a V, for a more feminine and flattering shape at the back.

It had a long tie/ which has been tailored to a more modern waistbelt.

The train has been brought in slightly (this also helps as the bustle is then not too big and heavy once tied up!)
