The Dress

Formal description: Sara is a glorious long-sleeved gown that’s both flattering and free-spirited — crafted from romantic satin spot tulle and crepe, dainty confetti peppers the entirety of this wedding dress. The bodice is impeccably structured, with a sheer tulle back and memorable plunging neckline. Featuring beautiful bishops sleeves, similar to the Amber dress, except these are mesmerisingly sheer. The skirt flows wistfully out from under a waist-defining sash, that sweeps down to the floor and finalises the ethereal look.

Personal description: This dress was perfect, I felt so elegant, I could eat as much as I wanted without feeling uncomfortable, I could dance in it and I didn't feel cold/hot in it at all. For reference I got married on 1st Oct in Wiltshire.

In regard to the flaws: As you can see, we had our reception at a converted barn venue with gravel and grass. The dress has been cleaned by Boxed Bridal very recently. Their comments after the clean are as follows: "As I mentioned, your dress did respond really well to the process. When the tulle is all gathered together you do get a slight hint of the 'residue', but the floatiness of the fabric means it doesn’t really stay still when being worn." For this reason, I have reduced the cost of the dress to reflect the above.

Alterations

Because of the delicate material, everything was altered by hand. The seamstress took in the waist band and the bodice. They had also 'darted' the back which was reinforced behind one of the buttons. That has now been untacked since so it's retuned to how it was originally. I didn't diet during between my fittings, so the alterations were very minor.

The bottom of the dress was trimmed very slightly. The cuttings that I still have measure at: 7.5cm - this is reflected in the measurements I've provided.

Based on my experience with this dress, you will definitely need a seamstress too, perhaps one that has had experience with delicate dresses.

I also wore bra cups in this dress which are now removed. I am a D cup, so if you're the same, I'm happy to throw those in for free.
