Monique Lhuillier, Custom Made

Hiya, I am selling my beautiful custom-made Monique Lhuillier gown. It's been worn once and is in immaculate condition. I am a UK size 8 and 5"10, I wore 4 inch heels on my wedding day. I am quite tall for my size so I'd imagine the bride that buys this will get it taken up, which will give it the perfect new finish at the bottom (I didn't spill anything but I did get stepped on a little!).

I bought the dress from Brown's Bride in London.

I wanted a dress that looked amazing but wouldn't date too quickly, I wanted to look elegant on my wedding day but still choose something that showed my best parts (small waist and shoulders!)

Originally I tried the Astor gown, which is what the design is based on, however I had a custom made corset top with internal structure and a sweetheart neckline, and changed the original nude and cream tones of the dress to silk white and ivory. The underlay is a nude colour (which you cannot see) and Monique explained that in the light this would give the dress more of an elegant, sophisticated tone as opposed to a harsh silvery/ white- she was absolutely right.

I felt amazing in my dress, my wedding was in the summer and it's not too heavy (or difficult to use the loo etc.). I had so many compliments, not just that I looked beautiful but even from guys saying they'd never seen anything like my dress and how beautifully made it was withe just the right amount of detail which was really nice.

I am sad to be selling but I'd rather it was loved as much by someone else than sat packed away.

My dress was pictured and featured on multiple wedding pages online and posted on Instagram by Monique herself (personal account!), my friends still come across and tag me in pages they come across now. It really is even more stunning in real life and the true beauty is when you move in it as the silk flows beautifully and the details catch the light.

Please let me know if you have any questions. The dress has been professionally dry cleaned, and my home is pet and smoke free. I am happy for the dress to be tried on but please do not wear fake tan or anything that could mark the fabric.
