Alterations
- I had this dress modified to the extreme to make it more simple, flattering and boho-like
- I had about 80 of the flower appliques removed to create a smaller waistline and hips (reverse v from the waist)
- They were removed in a way that would create shape and flatter my body type
- I also had the hem lifted (I'm 165cm), as well as a tonne of fabric removed from the bust so it wasn't as bulky
- During this process the dressmaker also ensured the bottom layer of silk (against my bust), sat flush to my skin
- Again, we did this to ensure the dress flattered my upper half, and didn't make it appear larger
- I am short and small, so this dress was altered and change slightly to ensure it didn't overwhelm my body
- It was important that I wore the dress and that the dress didn't wear me!
