The dress is made of Pearl Mikado, a studrdy fabric that is not as heavy as satin. There is not a sheen to the fabric. This gown is very supportive with boning in the bodice. I was able to not wear a bra on my wedding day and felt secure all night. The interior waist belt is original to the gown’s design.
