Alterations

  • My measurements at the time of ordering were B:32, W:24 and H:37
  • During the alteration process I had the length shortened as I’m 5’6” (I wore 3.5” heels on the day) and also the waist was taken in slightly when the cups were added
  • As I’m not blessed with boobs the dress has double padded cups sewn into the bodice
  • If you are lucky enough to have curves then I’m sure a seamstress could alter the cups for you
  • I have tried the dress on for measurements and they are as follows :
  • Bust 34 inches (with the double cups in)
  • Waist 25 inches
  • Hips 37 inches
  • It's a little tight on my waist now
  • I guess the dress would fit a size 6-10 but I want to provide the measurements for accuracy

This dress is absolutely gorgeous and I will be sad to see it go. Logically there is no point in keeping this beauty hidden in my wardrobe and no other bride getting the pleasure of it. This really deserves to be part of another wedding day. It's my dream dress that I completely fell in love with.

This dress is so comfy to wear throughout the day and compared to another dress I very nearly bought it is very lightweight. The lace detail is stunning and if you do decide to purchase this dress just be careful how you hang it. The clothes loops that can be safety pinned back on to take the weight (you will be able to see where I cut them out in the dress). There is a risk the fabric mesh can stretch so this needs to be done to minimize the chance of that happening.

The dress does have a loop on the underside of the train so that it can be taken up at night (tied to the lowest button loop as it’s the strongest part of the dress).

I opted for the nude bodice colour. There was an option of white but I just preferred the nude look.

This dress has been away for professional dry cleaning at Terrington Burchett in Grantham for 10 weeks. Please take a look at their website for more information on how the dress was cleaned. They specialize in the ‘Baptiste process’. There is a note on how they stopped cleaning the hem purely because of the delicate material. I can see some small marks on the hem/train that still remain but I honestly don't think they're that noticable. Even though it was a lovely sunny day when we got married, there was a lot of dry dust within the hem and train from the drive at the venue (example of remaining marks in the last photo). They have done an amazing job considering. I will include a photocopy of the note left in the box. It's up to you if you want to have the train cleaned further to remove remaining marks.

I will also include a crochet hook for the buttons….. I advise at least 30 minutes to get into dress as my mum was having a panic trying to get the buttons done before the ceremony.

When the dress will be packaged for the courier it will be wrapped back in all the tissue the dry cleaners used and of course the box. The Pronovias Atelier bag, hanger, cleaning label, hooks and crochet hook will also be included. On arrival the skirt may be creased (it’s the pesky crepe fabric) but steam cleaning should smooth the creases out.

Before your wedding and once steam cleaned try to hang the dress and spread the train out as much as possible to stop creases.

This dress was bought from Eternity Bridal Wear in Warrington and was £2900. Dry cleaned at Terrington Burchett for £118.
