This is a completely bespoke Augusta Jones Ali dress bought and altered from the very lovely White Room in Minchinhampton.

I was determined from the minute I started looking for a dress that I really didn't want a strapless one, as I wanted something a little bit 'different'.

I tried another dress on in a different shop, which had a low plunging back and I absolutley loved how it looked from behind... unfortunatly I didn't like the front! When I tried the Ali dress on I fell in love with the beautiful scalloped neckline and how simple and easy it felt to wear but originally the back was the same as the front (Google it if you'd like to see an image) with full lace coming right up to the neck. Although I loved the lace I loved the low back of the other dress I had tried on and mentioned it to the Bridal shop; they were completely amazing and said they could happily alter the back into a low plunging V.

It was really important to me that I could move and dance and have fun in my dress, so I didn't want anything rigid or big and this dress really was a dream to wear- super light and easy and no restrictions, no corseting, no fuss! To this effect I also had the train shortened by about a foot and the extra scalloped lace from the train was then used to make the V on the back of the dress.

Due to the low nature of the back it wasn't possible to wear a bra, so I have had bust cups stiched in (C / D cup) but these are only held in with a few stiches and could easliy be removed or replaced with ones of a different size (they're super easy to get and only cost £25.

The dress is a size 12 but I would say I am normally a high street 8-10.

My measurements are as follows:

Bust 34
Waist 27
Hips 36
Height 5ft 7 (and I wore 4.5 inch heels)

The dress is made from heavy charmeuse and is fully covered in stunning corded lace. There is no internal ties, boning, corset etc it is just a beautifully simple dress which does up with a single zip at the back and is super, super comfy to wear and takes literally seconds to put on and take off. It also has a bustle for the evening.

This is from the current Augusta Jones range and was purchased in February of this year and worn to our wedding on 28th September this year. I paid £1895 for the dress plus £450 for the alterations.

The dress has been dry cleaned by the recommended company.
