I bought this dress from French Connection and loved the beautiful detail on the top. I was initially after a dress with capped sleeves but I loved how flowing and light weight this was so I decided that I would get a dress-maker to add some sleeves on.

As I am a Nottingham girl I decided that I would like Nottingham Lace so my dress-maker bought this and made the sleeves for me. As a finishing touch I was going to use the extra sequins that came with the dress and sew some onto the sleeves to tie it in with the rest of the dress. I didn't get to do this as was gifted another dress that I fell in love with instead so in the end I didn't wear this dress. It is still a really beautiful dress and I would have been very happy wearing this. It was just that my dream dress was given to me as a surprise gift.
