The Dress
Beautiful, versatile, new (with tags!) BHLDN/Jenny Yoo Conrad dress. Highly recommend viewing it at their website. The reviews there will have additional photos. This gown can be worn for a minimal look, or dressed up with a belt.
SIZING:
I am taller— 5’8”, and this dress is long. We left it that way for a 2” heel. The dress was never worn down the aisle. I had chosen one dress, had doubts, bought this one on a whim, and at the last minute wore the first dress. It’s beautiful and was a tough call— I loved them both.
I typically wear a size S or 4, and this fits pretty true to size.
MEASUREMENTS:
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND REQUESTING THE MEASUREMENT PHOTOS, which are shown with the measuring tape. That way you will have a better understanding of where those measurements fall. For example, because of its structure, the waist measurement here doesn’t really correspond with where a person would measure their natural waist, if that makes sense.
With the dress laid flat:
FRONT: Inner, main dress length, from front center: 59”
Front, crepe overlay adds an inch for: 60”
WAIST: Measured along the seam: 13” (Note: my “natural” waist measures 30”. Once on, this seam line falls at a higher spot.)
TOP PORTION: Measured from center of strap, down to the waistline seam: 13.5”.
This is a drapier gown, so it wasn’t snug on me (see photos).
The BHLDN dresses are very well made. My seamstress does a lot of work for the bridal shops in Nashville, and said that she’s always been impressed with the quality of BHLDN gowns.
Non-smoker.

Alterations
Minimal alterations were done (and they’re the kind you’ll likely want or need):
-6-point bustle (Cost $450. This dress has a lot of fabric at the back, which makes for gorgeous photos. If you buy it new, you’ll have to add a bustle to wear it down the aisle. I will include a video of my seamstress walking through the steps to tie it.)
-I had padding added to the bust area. I was very careful to have the seamstress do it in a way that would not change the appearance of the dress or how it drapes. There is no way to wear a bra of any sort, and I felt it needed something. I’m small-busted, and didn’t want it overkill, as I had planned to wear it as I am in the fitting room pics.
-Straps were taken in slightly. You can see where she pinned it in the fitting room pics.
