The Dress

Dress worn 9 March 2020, is in perfect condition. This is a Maggie Sottero (Australian designed) Hailey Marie dress. This dress has been heavily tailored because I loved it so much but I am an approximate size 10 on top and a 12 on the bottom which has always made it difficult to find a good fitting dress. I also have very small bra size so this dress has 3 added cups (easily removed) so give good shape, bust darts, elastic jelly tape to hold everything in place and a take in tailoring up top.

Other tailoring includes hook and eye for the top of the zipper (which unfortunately on my day did not get done up, see photos). The hem was taken up slightly but I am 175cms tall (I wore flat shoes) so there is plenty more to go. I had a bustle added (see pic 4) which completely lifts the dress and helps to move around and to keep the dress pristine. The original dress had a very visible bodice underneath the sheer lace. This honestly just looked like a big pair of contouring underpants and was completely wrong for the subtle beauty of the dress. I spent a lot of money having this rebuilt so that the entire bodice over the whole of the dress is now skin-coloured, as opposed to the ivory of the original dress, with a material that provides support across the stomach and across the hips in the form of an underskirt that matches the lines of the lace so it is invisible and so you don’t have to wear contouring underpants (there is a bodysuit with 3 press-studs built into the bodice too).

The dress will come with all original receipts so you have confirmation that the value of the original dress and tailoring was $4,569.00. Questions are very welcome but I have discounted this for a second-hand dress already and given the condition of the dress, I am not prepared to negotiate on price unless it is a genuine nearest offer.
