The Dress
Custom KWH gown inspired by the Jacqueline dress with multiple modifications:
- buttons with hidden zip to fasten (in lieu of lace up)
- hidden pockets in skirt
- buttons all the way down the train
- solid belt (in lieu of jewelled applique)
- cathedral train (and ability to bustle)
Style inspired by Grace Kelly and Jacqueline Kennedy. Timeless ballgown shape in solid silk perfect for my wedding at St Paul's Cathedral in Melbourne.
Dress features a beautiful pleat on the bust that gives shape, with hidden cups sewn inside bodice. Fully satin lined, solid silk outer in ivory.
I wore it with a full tulle hoop skirt to add volume (hired from KWH - definitely optional) and a cathedral length ivory veil with lace edging.
Gown has been professionally drycleaned by Murphy's of Brighton and is boxed in layers of crepe paper. There are no marks or stains on the train or underside of dress.
Requires steaming as has been stored in dry, smoke-free conditions, but is somewhat crinkled due to storage. Will definitely all steam out. In perfect condition.
