This dress was picked to be for my second marriage. When I married in 2012, I got married in Fiji in a very simple ivory dress with no bling - picked by my best friend and I just didn’t have that feeling that it was the one... my beautiful husband passed away from cancer in 2017, and I was blessed again to find a new partner who proposed.

I got swept up this new engagement at the start of Covid, as well as new business and homeschooling, I got anxious wedding planning though... so, The week shops opened up in Newcastle, my two friends surprised me with a trip to a boutique, I wasn’t keen initially - but went. They picked and I tried on over 20 dresses, was ready to explode - until the sales lady pushed them aside and zipped me up in this.

It took my breath away when I looked in the mirror. I have never, ever felt so beautiful when I looked in the mirror. I am 39, and every dress I tried on showed my post-kid boobs and I hate not wearing a bra - however this dress made them feel perfect.

It fit me like it was made for me. I was so overwhelmed. It was everything that I had ever imagined in a dress and more. It took few dresses for us to see that the latte Georgette colour is what suited, and once we realised that - this dress just ticked all the boxes.

I said yes on the spot - I was in love.

However - as the year panned out - my mental health started to deteriorate at the thought of marrying again to someone who wasn’t my late husband. My fiancé was amazing, I guess it was just so much grief and I was diagnosed PTSD from my husbands cancer battle that I had ignored.

Anyway, wedding talk made me as anxious as Carrie Bradshaw in a wedding dress - so we made decision to post pone. This beautiful dress is in my wardrobe and seeing it there just makes me feel all that anxiety o had last year that I worked really hard on, and this dress doesn’t deserve that. It deserves to be worn by someone starting out their dream with their partner.

I just want someone to love it as much as I do xx
