The Dress

I wore this for my wedding in October and LOVED wearing it. I am so sad to sell it but don't think this beauty should be sat in a cupboard! I loved that it was a two piece meaning it was so easy to move in, but the design of it meant it looked like a dress. I loved the way the dress felt on, the fabric is really slinky but thick and premium, falling in just the right way. I love all the tiny details on the two piece that made it such a joy to wear. Design features like: the thin, delicate spaghetti straps; the cut outs on the top; the fabric covered buttons on the back. I loved the way the skirt sat, I wore it high waisted but you could wear it lower if you wanted more skin on show! Theres a grippy waist band which means it sits where you want it to.

I changed into a pair of white trousers after the meal (for optimum dancing) so the skirt was only worn for six hours! Both the skirt and top are in great condition, they were professionally dry cleaned two days after the wedding. There are no stains or marks, there are a few very tiny pulls on the fabric at the bottom of the small train - however these are really not visible unless you are looking out for them! Just want to be completely honest!

Our Tyler gown is a tailored slimline gown in a heavy but fluid satin. The bodice is double fused to give its smooth and structured look. With her cross over bodice detail, spaghetti straps and a beautiful bias-cut skirt, the Tyler gown is a modern twist on the slip dress.

Alterations

I bought this at Lovely Bride London in a split size and had professional alterations done by the recommended seemstreses Bride & Alter London (who are fab and would totally recommend!). I lost a bit of weight before the wedding so the top was professionally altered into a Prea James size 14 and the skirt a Prea James size 15 (have a look at the Prea James size chart as the sizes are slightly off UK sizes). They made these alterations by putting in side seams to the top and taking in on the waist and hip of the skirt. I am 165cm and wore 10cm heels, so a small amount of length was taken off the hem but the train left as per the design. I also had a hand loop added to the skirt - which was SO handy to carry the train.
