Alterations

  • The alterations were done by Karen Willis Holmes (as part of the hemming package)
  • Alterations included:
  • Hem - the hem was shorten at the front to my height - 165cm + 3.5inch Loeffler Randall heels
  • Total height 174cm (measured)
  • Bustle - an American bustle was added
  • It attached to below the buttocks region, however it broke
  • A seamstress would have to repair the bustle (if desired)
  • Sleeves - the sleeves were shorten a little but still relatively long (my personal preference)
  • The back- The lower back was taken in a little to prevent sagging
  • If you watch the KWH video you will notice sagging material on the back of the gown when the model turns
  • This alteration prevents this
  • Cups - there is an option to add cups but I declined and used strapping tape

The Dress
I loved my KWH wedding dress!! It is the Margareta from the Luxe Collection. I think it is a really elegant gown. I love the high neckline at the front contrasted with the low back. The beading makes if feel natural and classy all at the same time. I wore the gown once on my wedding day and it was really comfortable throughout the day. It was dry cleaned a couple days after the big day at the Maurice Dry cleaners (can provide receipt). It is a beautiful dress for a spring, autumn or winter wedding. Sadly selling and would love for someone else to enjoy it on their special day also.

Description from Karen Willis Holmes website:
The Margareta wedding gown is all about demure glam with its high cut boat neckline, long adorned sleeves, slim-fitting bias cut skirt and an open back that drops away off the shoulders right down to the waist. Finished with a fine beaded belt.

Sale of gown also includes:
- KWH belt (note, I tucked the belt into the back of the dress as I had a ribbon in my hair already).
- KWH sewing kit with spare beads
- KWH bridal gown bag

The dress is quite heavy due to the beading. Please let me know your postcode and I will try and figure out postage costs. Note. The dress did not feel heavy while I was wearing it.
