Collette Dinnigan Confetti Sequins Beaded Bodice & Silk Satin Gown

This Collette Dinnigan gown was such a special piece for me and set the tone for our whole wedding day. It evoked for me vintage romance while still keeping a modern edge and felt totally refreshing compared to every other wedding dress I tried on (which had all started to look the same).

I hope someone else can enjoy it as much as I did. I am only selling it because I will not wear it again and it deserves another life outside the cupboard.

This dress was purchased in April 2014 for our wedding in March 2015 from David Jones in Sydney. I am a size 12 to 14 and the dress is a size Large. I had alterations made by Sew Special in Sydney. They slimmed down the silk at the shoulders which i believe gave it a more feminine feel. The dress was also taken up and a bustle added in. Sew Special's work is of the highest quality and there is no sign the dress has been altered. I am approx 179cm (5 ft. 11 inch) tall and I wore an 8cm high heel. You can see from the photo it is still sweeping the ground. The alteration to take it up was very simple.

The gown is made from a beautiful heavy silk and was so comfortable to wear all day. There is a zip at the back and 2 beaded buttons near the nape of the neck to do up the beaded top. The top is attached to the silk gown at the waist.

The dress has been dry cleaned. The hem of the dress was marked from the ground but after dry cleaning, it is back to excellent condition.
