Babushka Ballerina, Josephine

Congrats on your engagement and happy bridal gown shopping!

My story: After searching high and low for my dream wedding gown, I found the Josephine gown at the Babushka Ballerina. At first, I initially had my mind set on purchasing an Anna Campbell but then I tried on the Josephine and instantly fell in love. It was everything I wanted and more. The dress has an incredibly flattering yet comfortable fit. It was still a bit chilly in August and I wore an Alannah Hill faux feather wrap in keeping with the vintage, soft and romantic theme. I also paired the Josephine with an Anna Campbell Isadora tulle belt and the Willow tulle headpiece with a lovely flowing mini veil.

Gown overview: Vintage, modern, romantic and sweet, The Babushka Ballerina Josephine gown features a structured sweetheart bodice under a high neck lace top while incorporating a delicate cap sleeve, an open V-style back with a flattering silk waistband and a full soft silk chiffon skirt with train. Fabric: Lace / chiffon with silk satin lining. 100% polyester.

Alterations: My gown has been altered to fit a street size 6 - 8 Australian. I have had the gown professionally dry cleaned and stored away in the protective heirloom box. The following alterations have been done to the gown:

- dress hemmed to 175cm including heels. I am 165cm and wore 4 inch (10cm) heels and the gown just barely touches the floor and still covers my heels. I also changed into flats later on in the day (photos 3, 4 & 5 in flats) and danced away the night with no problems (with dress bustled);

- waist taken in to 25 inch waist

- cups have not been added as I found the boning to be sufficient support. However, I still wore a strapless bra on the day for extra support which was not visible in the V back.

The bustle (which was a very thin thread) has broken but can easily hand sewn back

I absolutely adore this gown and received so many compliments on how beautiful it is. I am incredibly sad to depart from this gown but I would love to see this gown make another bride-to-be feel just as special as I did when I wore it for our special day. It was extremely comfortable and easy to move around in. The gown is in excellent pre-owned condition and has only been worn once by me. I am open to negotiating a price for this gown (and accessories) - I would hate to see it sit in storage.
