I saw this dress on the Anthropology/BHLDN website and loved its romantic, fit and flare beauty. (It can be seen on the BHLDN site.) Nothing I'd seen came close to this unique dress. It is absolutely stunning. The top layer is pure white lace on an ivory sheer background that makes the white detailing really stand out. While the dress has a vintage feel and is ultra feminine, the lace isn't "fussy." There is a sheer, ivory underlayer and a light ivory satin backing. The back details are gorgeous: 25 satin buttons run from neck to waist through a shaped sheer design. The train is regal - but is easily bustled into soft pleats for dancing. We used a professional seamstress to insert a bra, add soft facing inside the neck and sleeve edges for comfort, shorten the dress, and add 7 clear buttons and loops to bustle the train. (I'm 5'6" and wore flats and my street size is 8-10.) She also created a satin ribbon belt trimmed in matching lace. Her charge for these additions was $350 and added an extra layer of comfort...nothing slips, catches or needs "adjusting." This dress makes you feel like a movie star...but a very savvy one. It was perfectly appropriate and modest for a full church wedding and sophisticated enough for a large bridal party and a Country Club reception. I wore it on Oct. 24 and had it professionally cleaned 2 weeks later. It is spotless and looks absolutely brand new.
