I wasn't sure what style of dress would suit me, but when I tried on this Wendy Makin gown 'Charlotte' I knew it was the right one. It was flattering for my body shape and dramatic without being fussy. The fabric is divine: a heavy silk with a slight sheen that looked timeless and made me feel elegant.

Since I am tall (177cm) this dress could be shortened to suit anyone (I wore it with heels). I had it taken in to fit my waist and it comes with some padding the the bust area and the beautiful crystal belt. The dress also had a small loop sewn in at the back to lift the train for dancing.

One of my favourite features about this dress is that it has pockets! I kept my lip gloss and my speech in there all day.
